As Arjun proudly mans the helm and Joe and George meticulously pour over charts of the Chesapeake Bay, the Port Watch is in fine form. Today is the final day of navigating for these students and it is obvious how much they have learned! Port watch is currently in charge of the boat while Starboard watch is working on their final projects dealing with conserving the Chesapeake Bay.
This morning we all went crabbing with Captain Clay. He took the Port watch (Arjun, Derek, George, Joe, and Melissa) out at 5 AM and they caught a Bushel and a half of crabs! The crabs were HUGE! Every time that you missed a crab you had to sing a song... Derek broke the previous record. The Starboard watch (everyone else) went out at 8:30 and did very well, but did not catch quite as much as Port. We learned that the crabs usually feed earlier in the morning. A few of the crabs were enormous and we can't wait to eat them for dinner. Tonight we will also be tye dying and having smores. We passed the Sigsby (Oysters) and had a few words with them. We are going to all sail into Baltimore at 1pm tomorrow so that all three of the LCF boats dock at the same time. It should be a nice sight!
