Day 4: Fossils and Outhouses

We had another early morning on day four, and after breakfast immediately left and set off for Calvert Cliffs State Park. Once the boat was under way, Starboard got their first shot at being on watch, and did boat checks, navigated our course for us, and even got to steer. Both watches also got to study a blue crab we had found on deck, and meet Squirtle, our resident terrapin turtle and boat pet. Upon arrival at Calvert Cliffs, we had a scavenger hunt at the museum there, at which we saw frolicking river otters and fossils from a prehistoric shark, among other things. We then headed to our new campsite at the state park, which was one of the most beautiful and secluded sites we had stayed at yet. The outhouses and lone water spicket that replaced the luxurious bathhouses we had enjoyed so far were a source of trepidation for some, but we made up for it by having our first campfire. We ate some delicious veggie chili for dinner (the vegetarians were happy), and then sang some songs around the fire before bed.

Moe,
Yo ho Master Moe! It's Smuggy, your first mate checking in. Ruff ruff ruffrufffffrufff...we heard ruff seas, ruff weather, ruff potty conditions...now you know what it's like to be a dog..RUFF LIFE... blah blah blah. You know who has it ruff? You guessed it, ME!! I'm stuck with Mom who leaves too much, sleeps too little and who's idea of fun is rearranging the house every week. Ruff! Have fun in DC this weekend while I endure the torturous ruffy scruffy 4 legged "friends" at PETSMART. At least one of us will be having fun. I can only hope Erik comes to get me on Saturday :-)))
I miss you very much. Actually, I hope I recognize you next time we meet...hahaha...
Love,
Your very obedient pooch, Smuggs

Colette,
Muffin wants to know if you failed at being sick... C-sick... get it?

Daddy: I'm so crabby, no crabs on sale yet. How many crabs did you get?

Lydia says "GIMME THE CRABS COLETTE" (fiery determination for getting the crabs)*I ran down the hallway to the computer and almost bashed my self into the wall*

Mommy wants to know if your piku-whew is better :D

Hi Laura!
Another day in paradise, huh? Not so bad, menina! So many great things to do and to see don't let visions of "outhouses" distract you (does Girl Scout summer camp rings a bell?)!
Dad still working on painting your bedroom. Tuesday got here way too fast for him...he still has a lot to do. But it'll definitely be done by Friday.
Have a good night and another fun day tomorrow!

Te amo,
Mom and Dad
