Hey! Ho! Let's Go!

..."twenty twenty twenty-four hours agooo-oh-oh"
And now a word from the students:
"Our day [July 3, 2008] began with a lesson about run-off and water quality. Afterward, we took a walk around the farm where we learned about the envioronmentally friendly methods of farming used there . Areas of vegetation (reparian zones) are used to catch run-off. We took a long boat ride, during which port took their first watch and starboard learned about plankton. The winner of the plankton-floating contest was Maestro Maura. Starboards later worked on their blue crab project: the creation of a main article & others about blue crabs. As we approached Taylor Island we played the 'Blue Crab game' and got ready to dock. We had hot dogs for dinner. Off-road Aaron found out that they taste good with Ranch Dressing. We then had a tent pitching contest once we went to the campsite. Kristina and Karen were the winners. Despite having to switch their tent three times, Anna Valkirie and Mustang Morgan came in second followed by John H. and Jackie Kahan in third. Stay tuned!"

----H. H. Jose Here, the kids are still great and are doing well despite the bug wars. Won't say much else because I just might toss my cookies!!!!

Hi Anna,

I enjoy reading the daily blog and following your course on the map. I finally stopped obsessing over the NOAA weather site and just check every other day. Have you had any good thunderstorms? Do you enjoy them as much in a tent as when you're at home?

I hope the sea bands and the garlic pills are working for you. Dad says hi. Elijah still looks for you at bedtime, but he has quieted down a bit during the day.

Hugs,
Mom

Hey Marty,

So what's with the "bug wars"? Garlic pills not working?

Sounds like you're having a great time! The whole family is following the blogs - Wisconsin family, too.

Horus, especially, misses you. He has lost his position as "favorite cat" and actually had to watch Digger eat treats before he was let in so he could scarf up all the newly put out ones. Oh, the torture!

Best,

Mama and Daddy le Sabre

Hi Mustang Morgan –

Sorry we couldn’t talk more on the Fourth. It’s a good thing Mom hates to talk on the phone or we wouldn’t have spoken at all. Sounds like you and the others are having a good time, despite the weather. We all miss you. In particular, Edison was upset that Mom didn’t include him in the last message to you. He wants me to tell you he’d email you himself, if he had opposable thumbs. I’m sure the fish feel the same way but, as always, they tend to keep their emotions inside and never say a word.

I wish you could post something on the blog to tide me over until I can finally speak with you again. I can’t wait to hear how the field work turns out. Keep having fun.

Love ya –

Dad, Mom, Jonathan, Edison and (I’m sure) a ton of fish
